FAREWELL DANCE

In honour of Mr Clifford O'Malley, a prominent member of the School of Art Sketch Club, who is leaving shortly on a trip to Britain, members of the club arranged a successful farewell dance, held last evening in the Students' Union Building, Canterbury University College. The men's common room, which was used for dancing, was effectively decorated with nautical cut-outs, and the supper-room was bright with marigold. Fritz Seymour's orchestra provided music.

The committee in charge of orrangements were Misses F. Akins, Sylvia Ragg, Ruth Northcroft, Eileen Cuff, Nancy Rogers, Messrs J. Richie, J. A. Brittenden, W. Reid, W. Sutton, A. A. Deans, J. Hendry. Those present were Mrs Derrie Wood, Misses May Ennis, Joyce Cooper, Betty Ackroyd, Eileen Cuff, Inez Pinwill, Margaret Oram, Mary Martin, Nancy Hitchcock, Elvie Green, Ruth Northcroft, Sylvia Ragg, Billie Henderson, Edna Townsend, Helen Fiteh, Joan Marr, Ailsa Grant, M. Cook, W. Muir, Judy Barker, Ethel Marr, J. Roberts, Heath Thompson, Jeannette Fitch, Jocelyn Taylor, Joan Osborne, Ethel Fairthorne, Jessie Loyd, and R. Campbell.
