ASSOCIATION CODE

INJURED PLAYERS TO BE REPLACED

MEETING OF MANAGEMENT

COMMITTEE

The replacement of players who are inlured will be allowed in Football Association games this season. It was announced at a meeting of the management committee of the Canterbury Football Association that the New Zealand Association had decided that injured players could be replaced at all times during a game. This was in direct contradiction to the rules of the London Football Association, but it was stated that the Dominion Association considered itself entitled to run its domestic affairs in its own way. Various reasons for the innovation were given, and it was agreed that the local association could do nothing about the matter. It was reported that the secretary had applied for the use of Lancaster Park on June 0, when a combined Canterbury-Buller-Westland team would meet the touring English amateur side. There was a good prospect of the game being turned into a test, but nothing had yet been decided. , , , Mr J. E. Jones was reappointed chairman, and Mr R. B. Bunt secretary. Mr J. Cawtheray was elected sole selector for the Canterbury senior team for the 1037 season.

The following sub-committees were set up:—Finance: Messrs J. E. Jones, F. T. H. Bell, J. G. Parry, arid L. F. Foote. Competitions: Messrs C. Sanderson, H. Weatherhead, and C. E. Keys. Classification: Messrs J. Lindley, R. Broadbelt, Sanderson, and Cawtheray. Grounds: Messrs A. Harland, R. Wood, Lindley, and Cawtheray. Advertising: Messrs Bell, Foote, and R. B. Bunt. Postponements: Messrs Jones and Bunt.
