ADVERTISING CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING HELD

The largest membership list yet re- [ corded in the History of the organisation was reported at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Advertising Club held last evening. Mr J. Stout, I president, presided over a large attendance of members. Five new members were elected, making a total of 80. The balance-sheet showing a credit balance of £l3 17s 7d was adopted. The syllabus of engagements for the year was approved, including addresses on business subjects and social events. It was announced that the subject for the next meeting would be a debate on "Private Enterprise v. Socialism," between Messrs S. G. Holland. M.P., and A. H. Nordmeyer, M.P. Officers for the year were elected as follows:—Patron, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan; president. Mr J. Collins; immediate past president, Mr J. Stout; vice-presidents. Messrs J. W. Baty. P. Sherlock, W. Soper. V. G. Spiller, D. V. Wilson, R. V. White. H. R. Lake, H; E. Bell, H. B. Duckworth, J. L. Hay. H. F. Sewell. H. C. Smith; secretary, Mr J. J. Walker; treasurer. Mr F. H. Walls; auditor. Mr W.
