GISBORNE, March 24.

Fire destroyed the Te Araroa branch of the Waiapu Farmers! Trading Company overnight, the losses including the Ahuwhenua Cup, presented by Lord Bledisloe, won in 1036 by Mr Henry Dewes. and entrusted to the management for safe keeping. The manager, Mr Pepere, made repeated efforts to penetrate the burning building to save the trophy.
