SHIPPING NOTES

Yesterday was an exceedingly busy day in port, and some vessels were unable to secure all the labour required. Occasional rain showers delayed the work a little, and there Is still a shortage of trucks. 1 The Gale is now due here to-morrow from the south to take In cargo for Wellington, Picton. and Wanganui; The Waimarino is to arrive here tomorrow from Auckland and Wellington, and is to sail in the evening for Dunedin and Bluff.

The Storm is now expected here on Saturday from Tlmaru, and will load for Wellington and Wanganui. The Awahou, due here on Saturday from the south, will load and sail for Wellington and New Plymouth.

The Wainui is to arrive here on Friday from Tlmaru. After loading for Napier and Gisborne, she will sail via Wellington.

KARAMEA EN ROUTE

The Karamea left London on Friday-for Australia, to discharge, proceeding thence to New Zealand to load during April.

ROTORUA AT WELLINGTON

The Rotorua, from London, arrived at Wellington at 11,30 a.m. yesterday. South Island passengers, luggage, and malls will arrive at Lyttelton this morning by the Rangatira.

TEES FURTHER DELAYED

Further delayed at the Chatham Islands, the Tees was expected to\ leave there last night for Lyttelton, and is due here early on Thursday morning. She is to sail on Thursday on the return trip.

MINESWEEPER TO DOCK

H.M.S. Wakakura, the minesweeper attached to the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy, Is to dock at Lyttelton to-day for cleaning and painting. ..She is to leave Lytfriton on Saturday with- the first draft from the Canterbury Division of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve for Akaroa for annual training. Further drafts will be taken at weekly intervals, and the Wakakura is to leave Lyttelton on April 3 for Auckland. .
