PACIFIC ROTARY CONFERENCE
— — 500 DELEGATES EXPECTED [THE PRESS Special Service.] WELLINGTON, February 14. About 500 delegates are expected to attend the, Pacific Rotary Conference, which is to be held in Wellington from March 1 to March 5. This is the first time that New Zealand has been selected as the venue for a Pacific conference, and among the overseas delegates will be visitors" from Australia, Japan, Honolulu, Los Angeles, Manila, Vancouver, and Shanghai. The remaining delegates will be drawn from all parts of New Zealand, and the District Governor, Mr W. Thomas, of Timaru, will preside over the deliberations of the conference, at which a number of papers will be read. The personnel of the conference committee, which has been attending to the numerous details, is:—Messrs J. M. A. Ilott (chairman), F. Campbell (deputy chairman), Harry E. Anderson, W. Gray Young, and Sir Alexander Roberts. Mr Anderson is president of the host club. A series of social functions has been arranged for the delegates, who are to receive a Government welcome and a civic welcome. They are also to be the guests of the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) at morning tea. -
