FISHING LAUNCH HELPLESS

(press association telegbak.) AUCKLAND, February 14. While running down the coast to Auckland from Ocean Island the Union Company's steamer Kaiwarra diverted from her course early this afternoon to pick up the fishing launch Marina from Mangawai. which is on the east coast of North Auckland below Waipu Cove. The Marina had broken down and was drifting helplessly when the Kaiwarra took her in tow and brought her to the Mangawai heads. There, another launch took charge of the MaTlie Marina, which is owned by F. Franich, of Mangawai, leit early in the morning on a trip to the deep-sea fishing grounds off the coast. Franich was in charge and the passengers included Dr W. H. Horton, of Auckland, president of the Mangawai Deep-Sea Fishing Club, and Mrs Horton, and three other Auckland residents.
