South Africa is challenging for the Davis Cup in the European zone. Her representatives will be N. G. Farquharson and V. G. Kirby, ranked first and fourth respectively in South Africa in 1936, F Fannin,' ranked tenth, and C. Eedes, unranked, with V. Harris, ranked seventh, as reserve. The lastnamed trio has been selected to gain experience.
