WOODFULL'S FAITH IN BRADMAN i "AUSTRALIA'S POSITION NOT HOPELESS" LONDON, December 27. W. M. Woodfull has sent a message to the "News of the World" saving that his faith in Bradman as a cricketing genius is such that he does not regard Australia's position as hopeless. Alluding to the criticism of Bradman since the second test, Woodfull says: "Such a reversal of public opinion is unfair and unjustified. It was to be expected that Bradman, who was untried in leadership, would make a few errors of judgment, but these were of a minor character and did not affect the trend of battle. I believe that Bradman will develop into a great leader, but experience can be obtained only on the field." Woodfull describes the talk about the team not pulling their weight under Bradman as nonsense, but he expresses doubt whether the selectors have yet found Australia's best team. EUROPEANS MAKE 218 AT BOMBAY (Received December 27, 5.5 p.m.) BOMBAY, December 27. The Europeans' team in the first : innings made 248 (Tarrant 78, | Bromley 56).
