JESSE OWENS BEATS A RACEHORSE
♦ (Received December 27, 11 p.m.) HAVANA, December 26. Jesse Owens, in his first professional appearance, receiving 40 yards handicap, defeated a racehorse in a 100 yards dash by 20 yards in 9 9-10 sec. He said he was satisfied with his performance, and was confident that he could defeat all but the fastest horses from scuatch.
