HEDGE FIRE AT ASHBURTON

A fire occurred in a large macrocarpa fence between the properties occupied by Messrs E. Travers, 32 Burnett street and D. Cameron, 34 Burnett street, at 11.30 a.m., on Saturday. Before the Ashburton Volunteer Fire Brigade arrived the outbreak had a firm hold of the fence which was about 10ft high and about 3ft wide. The fire was suppressed after about 12ft of the fence was burnt s' !
