There was beautiful summer weather, and a large,-crowd, watched the events on the river. :Maorl canoe and speedboat races contributed to the programme, but the chief interest centred in the rowing. The results of the rowing were;— Maiden Fours, open—Star No. 1 1, Aranioim 2. Star No. 2 3. Maiden Double Sculls—Union 1. Aramoho 2. Petone 3, Youths’ Fours—Union 1, Pelone 2, Wellington 3. Senior Fours —Union (R. Gould sir H. Benge, G. Delves, and A. Tonks) I,' Wanganui 2. Ararnoho 3, Star 4. Won by a length. Junior Fours, open—Arainoho 1, Petone 2, Union 3. Maiden Fours—Union 1, Star 2, Wellington 3, Senior Single Sculls—R. Coxon (Aramoho), 30sec, 1; H. J. Luke (Wellington), lOsec, 2; E. Woolcott (Wellington), 15sec, 3. Junior Fours—Wellington No. 1 I Wanganui 2. Union 3. Junior Double Sculls—R. Tregurtha and H. Spoor (Wellington) 1, A. Tonks and R. Gould (Wanganui) 2. Open Eights (non class)— Star 1, Union 2. In this last event Star finished on the opposite side of the course' and during the race cut Union and Petone out.
