♦ ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING TITLE WON BY TIMARU MARKSMAN The fifteenth annual championship meeting of the Canterbury Rifle Association ■was held on the RedclUTs rifle range on Saturday. Conditions were ideal, and some high scores were registered. At the commencement of the shooting a strong southwesterly wind was blowing down the range, but changed later to a light easterly breeze. The entries were the largest for several years, necessitating the use of 14 targets. Over 80 marksmen competed, representing clubs in Canterbury, South Canterbury, West Coast, North Canterbury, and Otago. W. E. Jones (Timaru), who won the title in 1935. again won the championship after a shoot-off with D. IT. Keir (.Christchurch!.
