NEW FISHERIES ALONG TASMANIAN COAST

■ * AERIAL .SURVEY SUCCEEDS HOBART, December 10. An aerial survey of Bass Strait, South Victorian waters, and those alone the south of New South Wales, reveals the discovery of. new fishing grounds, particularly in Bass Strait and on the Tasmanian coast. The survey is designed to promote a branch of industry in Australia which has been neglected, but which offers possibilities for expansion. The aerial observations in Tasmanian waters indicate that the area is a great potential source of fish supplies not only for Tasmania, but for the mainland. Added importance is being attached to the existence in these waters of barracouta and flathead. two of the most important varieties of food fish in Australia.
