The poles were out 45 feet-at Epsom on Saturday, birt in spite of the rain the track was in good order. Bonny Azure returned Imin ssec for half a mile, the best effort. Baron Grand’s Imin 6sec was outstanding for

one in his class. He has come into favour for the Akarana Handicap. Bonny Azure trailed Glenrossie until (H6 distance post to finish on terms in 3min 36sec. Glenrossie going Imin Gsec for, the half mile. Both paced very well, the mare showing rare dash. • After taking 2min 35sec for a mile, Red Shadow and Bingen Palm ran the next half in Imin 7sec, finishing together, but they were not doing their best. Rey Spec registered 3min 35sec for the last mile and a half of two miles, the last half-mile smoothly in Imin 7sec. Mocasl went 3mm 39sec. the final section in Imin 7 3-sscc. Baron Grand Beat Lucky Love comfortably in 2min 59sec of a mile and a quarter, and made a deep impression with his sprint in Imin 6sec. Aircraft ran away from Nawton Parrish and Silver Watch in 2min 54sec, showing his best since coming north, and going Imin 7sec for the last halfmile. After going slowly for the first halfmile, Smooger ran over a mile in 2min 20scc, the last half in imin 7sec, while Grand Mogul was never at iop during a two miles work-out, the last mile showing 2min 24sec, and the half Imin Bsec. P lulus led Superior Rank and fiongoinai over a mile and a half in 3min 49sec, going the last half easily in Imin 9sec. Star Pronto beat Audo Patch, Mountain Sun, and four novices, who joined in at the mile and a quarter, over two miles in 4min 52sec, the last half-mile nicely in Imin Bsec. Audo Patch finished fast to show the same time for the half. Captain Bolt pleased by going two miles in 4min 54sec, with Native Cole. He could have improved a good deal on the Imin Usee lor the last halfmile. Bittersweet was not extended, but two bad breaks left San Rlichele with no chance of catching Gala Day, who ran the last mile and a quarter in 3min 7sec. AUSTRALIAN RACING (Received December 27, 6.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, December 28. The A.J.C. meeting was held at Randwiek iii heavy rain. The track was holding. . , J. T. Jamieson's Llmond colt Lynch Law further stressed his claims to be recognised as the best, colt of the year by comfortably winning the December Stakes, his third victory in three starts. He quickly ran to the front, and the issue was never in doubt. Lynch Law has now demonstrated his ability to handle any ground in any circumstances. Jamieson’s other Limond colt, Birthday Boy, was second in the Summer Nursery Handicap. On Parade, relishing the heavy going, convincingly won the A.J.C. Handicap. A protest was entered, by E. Hewitt, trainer of E) Senorita, against Sir Ross being declared the winner of the cup. It was on the ground that Knox, when using his whip approaching the winning post, struck Heather, the jockey, causing the latter to lose his v/hlp.
