CUDDLE’S NEW RECORD ROYAL CHIEF’S SUCCESS IN FOAL STAKES (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEQBAU.) AUCKLAND, December 26. The Auckland Racing Club’s summer meeting opened in fine, sunny weather to-day. The attendance of 38.000 was the best for 10 years at Ellerslie. The track was in perfect order, and the totalisator handled £102,798, compared with £76,928 last year, the only occasion on which the figures have exceeded £IOO,OOO since 1929, when £121,000 was invested. W. Rennie, rider of Modern Maid, was injured when the horse fell in the Grafton Hurdles. He was sent to hospital suffering concussion. Results:— QUEEN'S PLATE, Of 350 sovs. One mile. 4—ESSEX 8-0 ..
