RISE NEXT YEAR IN BREAD PRICES

♦ STATEMENT BY MINISTER WELLINGTON, December 22. Referring to the Wheat Cost Investigation .Committee’s report, the Minister for Industries and Commerce (the Hon. D. G. Sullivan) said to-day that this indicates an inevitable advance in wheat prices, and a slight increasein bread prices during the coming year. It was confidently expected, however, that neither wheat nor bread prices would rise to the figure at which they had stood on a number of occasions during the last two decades.

Mr Sullivan hopes to be in a position to announce the prices of milling and fowl wheat, as well as the new prices for bread, during the next few weeks.
