WARNING TO DRIVERS OF MOTOR LORRIES

A warning to drivers of heavy motor vehicles was Issued by Mr E. C. Levvey, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yesterday in dealing with a case in which the driver of a motorlorry was prosecuted for exceeding the speed allowed for vehicles of a certain weight. "I am not going to impose a penalty in this case," said Mr Levvey, "but you and other drivers of heavy

vehicles must realise that those limits were imposed for a special reason, the preservation of road surfaces. Whether your speedometers are right is your own or your company's concern, but if you and others persist in this I Will do what I had to in Southland to eradicate the practice, fine you £5."
