TROUT FISHING

A DISAPPOINTING WEEK-END Trout fishing at the mouths of the Ashburton and Rangitata rivers during the week-end was disappointing, although conditions were fairly good. Several good catches of kahawai, however, were made at the Rangitata mouth. Seven trout, ranging up to 31b, were landed by two local anglers, but most fishermen were unsuccessful. A bag of six trout, ranging up to 2Jlb, was secured by an angler in the unper reaches of the Ashburton river.
