ANNUAL INSPECTION HELD ■

The Kaikoura Beautifying Association held the annual inspection of the gardens in the district on Saturday afternoon. The judges were very pleased by the improvements shown. The following were the resultsi-Pr 6 * sident's Cup (Mr S. T. Harris, for gardens on light and sandy soil, M« «• G. Newton 1, Mrs A. C. Hansen Woodbank Cup, for gardens on heavy soil, Mrs H. C. Harrison 1, Mrs A. » Robinson 2. The judges were Hugonin, Mr and Mrs Arthur Scon, and Mr W. E. Richardson.

Fencing at Show Grounds A meeting of the Kaikoura Agricultural and Pastoral Association v» held on Saturday in the public Library. Mr J. J. Trewin presided. Mr E. C.
