The following was the resolution conveyed by the Synod to the council: —"That this Synod urges upon the City Council a discontinuance of the practice of usinf public hoardings for the purpose of advertising alcoholic liquors, as such advertisements are regarded as an affront to the sentiment of a large number of citizens."
