DEALINGS COMPLETED USTED STOCKS Sales on 'Change £ s. d.
Government New Zealand Government 4 per cent. Stock, due 1940, changed hands at £lO2 10s and that due 1948 at £lO4 ss, market closing firm for both. Commercial Bank of Australia were steady with sellers and dealings at 19s 2d, buyers at 19s Id, Bank of New Zealand had business at 435-6 d. Sellers of Union Bank of Australia reduced their limtis to £9 12s 6d, buyers at £9 10s. National Insurance were firm at 18s 3d and late offers at that price failed to attract sellers. Goldsbrough, Morts (cum dividend) were fractionally firmer with buyers *and dealings at 31s lid, sellers at 325. Sellers of United Building Society came down to 21s 6d. New Zealand Refrigerating fulty paid were firm with buyers and business at 19s lOd, sellers at 20s; the 10s paid were fractionally weaker at 9s 7d. closing quotations id on either side. Miscellaneous British Tobaccos (cum dividend) were firm with buyers and business at 41s. Broken Hill Proprietary rose to dealings at 73s Id and 73s 2d, market closing 73s buyers, 73s 3d sellers; the contributing were fractionally firmer at 50s 3d. market closing Id either way. Consolidated Brick were fractionally weaker withfsellers and business at 10s. Dunlop Perdriau Rubbers had dealings at 17s 9d and there were further sellers at that price. Electrolytic Zinc ordinary moved up to 38s 6d and 38s 9d, market closing 38s 3d buyers, 38s 6d sellers; the preference advanced to 40s 9d and closed firmer with buyers at 41s Id. General Industries were fractionally firmer at 19s 4d. G. J. Coles were fractionally weaker with sellers and business at 7Sto 7d. Hume Pipe (Australia) were firmer at 20s 6d and 20s 7d. and these were buyers’ and sellers’ closing quotations respectively. New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. (10s paid) rose to Is Cd. Taupo Totara Timber had dealings at 10s. Brian Borus were firmer with buyers and dealings at 4d. Mount Morgans were firmer at 15s 7d, 15s 7Jd, and 15s Bd, and more were wanted at 15s 7Jd, sellers at 13s Bd. ' Unlisted Stacks National Tobacco changed hands at 68s 6d, Sefridges (Australasia) rose to 25s 64 and 25s 9d and these were buyers’ and sellers’ closing quotations respectively; the new issue advanced to 23s 3d and 25s 6d, buyers staying in at 25s fid, sellers at 25s 9d- Woolworths (Sydney) ordinary were firmer at £5 15s 3d and £5 15s, market closing £5 14s buyers, £5 15s fid sellers.
GOOD TURNOVER AT CHRISTCHURCH INDUSTRIALS REMAIN POPULAR There was again an excellent market for industrials on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday. Prices were well maintained, and turnover was good.
