LAURIAN CLUB
MUCH SUCCESS ATTAINED LAST YEAR
A most successful year’s working is reported, with the confident hope of an even better year in 1936, in the annual report of the Laurian Club, Whiph will be presented to the annual meeting on Thursday, February 27. The financial aspect of the last year was good,- the report stated, showing a credit balance of £lO 19s 4d. .
The membership had . steadily increased until the club now had a total of 128 subscribing members. Included in this number were 17 performing and two “active” members. Greater increases could be looked for in the cosnreport makes special -mention of the succor which attended the lecture recital on'the occasion of the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the death of ;Bach, given by the English ipusicain, Mrs Stansfeld Prior. Performers* evenings were- also- being continued with! success, it was sjtateq» and subscribers’ 1 concerts had been both popular , and of a high standard. Notices of motion affecting membership ofcthe club, grating members, into, .several classes, and affecting other rules, are) contained in the .report, and, these:motion? wflU be dealt at the annual meeting.
