-/ft-V . « * ■ if-I TH* KMTOB'Of TH» FSESS,, : Sir.—lt has beenreported that is a movement on foot lor a sawmifriug company to acquire the rights,to-mill that wonderful piece of native bush, the Blue Duck native, reserve, which, is situated within * half an hour’s ’ run' from Kaikoura and only a lew minutes’ walk from the Main 1 North .’road. This reserve consists of some of ; the finest scenery in the country and abounds with native birds. If this,act Of vandalism is.'allowed to take place it will deprive the present and future generations- of this wonderful inheritance given to us by our forefathers, and 1 trust that' something may be done to save this reserve for the public from the bushman’s axe.—Yours, etc., .
