Rud- ■ kin in the final. _ ~ Partnered by Miss I. Poole, Roussell 1 reached the final ,of the mixed doubles event by beating Mrs E. M. Peppier and A. R. Cant, 6-4, 8-6. This also was quite a good game considering the difficult conditions. The losers could not keep the play from Roussell, whose excellent volleying and smashing won the game. Weather permitting,i the finals will be played this afternoon, beginning at 1.30 with the final of the singles between C. Angas Roussell., TEAM TO PLAY MID-. INTER-CLUB COMPETITIONS i The competitions committee of ths Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association met last evening to consider steps to decide the inter-club competitions, which have been interrupted to some extent by had weather. It was agreed 1 to play next Saturday the round of | matches in the senior mixed and sec--1 „tion I. of the A, B, and C, grade competitions, postponed from October 26. CHRISTCHURCH V. AKAROA ' A tennis match between a Christchurch team and one ‘ representing Akaroa, was played ; on the .'Akaroa‘Lawn Tennis and Domain Club’s courts in -excellent weather. The match resulted in a Win for’ Christchurch by 21 sets to U sets.-’The visiting. players.' .were billetted by - the ' local members. _ In the evening an enjoyable dance was held-In the Boating Club’s Social Rail,. Tikao's orchestra provided the music for( the dancing) and Mr -J.
