With delegates present- from all parts of the Dominion, the annual conference of the New Zealand Methodist Church was opened in Christ; church last evening. For the opening? service the congregation filled the Durham Street Church. The retiring V president, f the Rev. J. K. Faste™, presided,, and inducted into his office the president, elect, the; Rev- . P. Blamires, whd was introduced by the Rev. C. H. Olds. The secret tary, the Rev. W. A. Burley, was installed in office. , . After Mr Blamires had . delivered the presidential- address the/following officers , were elected: —Vice-president for 1936/ Mr'RiJ-Sw- Hampton (Wellington East); president for: i 937, the Jtev, F. Copeland.jfminister of the Whitetey. Memorial Church, New Plymouth; secretary-for 1937, the' Rev,' W. /A. Burley.
