THE BUDGET

PRESENTATION ON TUESDAY NEXT I From Our Parliamentary Reporter.] WELLINGTON, September 13. The budget will be presented in the House of Representatives on Tuesday evening next, and the financial debate will begin a day or so later. Interest in the address-in-reply debate has been waning steadily, and to-day's 'proceedings were dull. The Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes) hopes that Tuesday afternoon will see the conclusion of the debate, allowing the remaining back-benchers to contribute their opinions on matters which have been well threshed out. The contents of the budget tire still a close secret, and exceptional interest w'll centre on the Minister for Finance (the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates > when he reads his stater ment in the evening.
