SPREYDON BURGESSES
MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Spreydon Burgesses' Association was held last evening, Mr W. Campbell presiding. A letter from the manager of the Municipal Electricity Department stated that the installation of two lamps in the Spreydon Domain and three in Barrington Park had been approved. The work could not be done immediately, but would be carried out as soon as circumstances permitted. : was decided that the City Council be written to asking that the entrance gate to Barrington Park be moved to a more suitable position. The gate at present was tucked into an inconspicuous corner. If it were moved, flower beds could be plant i on either side and the entrance made quite impressive. In regard to the reconstruction of Barrington bridge, it was decided to write to the City Council asking that the work be speeded up, as the delay had been a great inconvenience to trac' :smen in the vicinity. Messrs J. Skelton and T. Coulter were appointed to form, with MiArthur Smith, of the Spreydon School Past-Pupils' Association, a deputation to the City Council to discuss the proposed improvements to Coronation Hall. <mOT ______»___.
