MUNICIPAL ROLL
Only a lew days remain in which persons not already enrolled on the main roll of the Christchurch City Council to be used at the municipal and local body elections on May. 1 may lodge applications for enrolment, as the main roll will close on Thursday. This roll, and the supplementary roll, will be used not only for the election of the Mayor and city councillors, but also for the election of the city representatives on the Lyttelton Harbour Board and on the North Canterbury Hospital Board. The fact that a person is enrolled on the parliamentary roll, or the rolls of the Christchurch Drainage Board or the Christchurch Tramway Board, or any other local authorities' roll, will not entitle him to vote at the municipal elections unless his name appears on the municipal roll. For the previous City Council elections and those of city members on the Harbour Board and Hospital Board in 1933, there were 47,743 names on the main roll, those on the supplementary roll bringing the total up to 51,521.
