A. Feverill, who brought the t up, spoke of the value a perniai.tnt outlet would be to the Kinl«:ch settlers. For a long time, he said, ihey had been hindered by a lack of S'ccess. The committee had taken the matter up some time ago, but the Unemployment Board had not reacted favourably. However, if the committee backed up the movement now tome-thing useful might happen. Mr J. W. Beanland agreed that support should be given. If the local bodies concerned took the matter up the committee could work with them bnd make the undertaking a relief Job. It was stated that 80 per cent, of the project would be labour. It was decided that with a view to the employment of a large number of men the committee should support the resolution passed at the conference of local bodies held at Little River on Tfcfrlay.
