CYCLING
RACES AT PREBBLETON
The Canterbury Amateur Cycling Centre, in conjunction with the combined clubs, staged a successful afternoon's track racing in tho Prcbbleton Domain on Saturday afternoon. The conditions wero ideal. Tho track was in good order and very fast, and sumo good racing w-as seen.
Outstanding performances were E. A. MoKaskell's quarter-milo from tho 10 yards mark ill 31 4-ssee, and G. R. Giles's effort in tin; attempt on the unpaeed standing start half mile track record. Riding finely he covered the distance- in 02 2-ssec. He also won the one mile open event in 2min 11 2-ssee from scratch—a fine performance.

Porter (70yds) 2, A. J. Green (40yds) 3. Time, G3sec. Avon Club Race, half mile—B. Hashing (20yds) 3, D. Wild (45yds) 2, R. Neill (scr) 3. Time, 05 3-ssec.
One Mile— h. Neill (ser) 1, O. Hall (35 yds) 2, W. G. Walker (45yds) 3. Time, 2min 10 2-3 sec.
Open Races—Quarter mile, first heat: L. McCready (40yds) 1, 11. J. Green (40yds) 2. Time, 33 4-ssec.
Final—H. J. Green (40yds) 1, E. A. McKaskell (10yds) 2, I. McCready (40yds) 3 Time, 32sec.
One Mile Open—G. R. Giles (ser) 1, J. Holland (40yds) 2, L. Hall (60yds) 3. Time, 2min 11 2-ssec.
