On Thursday, Septc./iber 13. there appeared in "The Press Junior" a poem entitled "Springtime" and sent in by Rosamund Eggleston, Harewood road. This poem was riot original. Contributors are asket'. to send in original compositions in verse or prose. Material that lias been published before cannot be used. Badges will be given out on Wednesday afternoons only. Drawings in pencil or writing ink will not be accepted; they must be done in black (Indian) ink on white paper.

FLOWER SHOW COMPETITION The St. Giles' Presbyterian Church flower show will be held on October 2 and 3. There will be many competitions for children of various ages. One of these, a painting competition, must be finished before the show begins. Pictures to paint may be obtained from Mr Reg. Morrison, 34 Grant's road, or from Mr R. Borgfeldt, c/o Silk House, Colombo street. All entries must be sent in by noon on Saturday, September 29, if they are sent to Mr Borgfeldt. Other entries may be sent to Mr Morrison.
