« —— EFFORTS TO RAISE FUNDS| CONCERT ON SUNDAY" | Excellent entertainment will be pro-} vided at the concert in the St. James'j Theatre on Sunday night for the raising of funds to send the Woolston Band to participate in the Melbourne Cen- J tenary band contest. Christchurch; Cinemas, Ltd., have placed the the- j atre at the disposal of the committee,! members of the Clem Dawe Revue Company have most kindly offered their- services and will be seen in many of their popular items, and the banc? will play two items, including the test! -election march. Full details of the! concert are advertised. As there have already been numerous applications for seats, the management has decided to open the doors at r.lo, in order to cope with the big iiouso promised. As the management ;s not allowed to reserve seats for intending patrons, those wishing to hear Die concert in comfort should attend sarly. On Wednesday. October 10. there .vill be a promenade concert at the King Edward Barracks, at which the sand will again perform. Tickets aro iow on sale, and are procurable from nembers of the committee or by direct ; application to Mr A. L.
