MR ULM FLYING TO N.Z.
FLIGHT BEGUN LAST NIGHT A GOODWILL MESSAGE (UNITED rHZSS ASSOCIATION—BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH —COPYRIGHT.) (Received May 12, 12.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, May 11. Mr C. T. P. Ulm left Richmond aerodrome for New Zeaand at 9.40 this evening in his monoplane Faith in Australia. It was a cool, cloudless night. He passed over Sydney at about 10 p.m. and reported that all was going well as he turned out over the Tasman. Mr Ulm is bringing a goodwill message from the Prime Minister of Australia (Mr J. A. Lyons) to the Prime Minister of New Zealand (the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes), in reply to one which Mr Forbes recently sunt to Mr Lyons by Mr A. B. Lane, manager of the New Zealand United Press Association. Mr Ulm will land at New Plymouth, and after a brief stay there will fly to Wellington to deliver the message.
