MR J. S. L. DEEM tPUESS ASSOCIATION TELKORAM.) WANGANUI, September 10. The death occurred on Mount Ruapehu to-day of Mr J. S. L. Deem, ■ city engineer, of Wanganui. Mr Deem, I with his wife and a friend, left the Chateau Tongariro early in the morning, and were climbing on the Whakapara Glacier. Mr Deem died after a heart seizure THE REV. P. J. COSSUM (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) PALMERSTON N., September 9. The death has occurred of the Eev. Percy J. Cossum, superintendent-minis-ter of the Sanson-Rongotea circuit of the Methodist Church, after a brief illness, at the age of 64. He had been 37 years in the ministry and was due to retire at the coming conference after three and a half years in his present circuit. Mr Cossum was very popular in the church and district. He was chairman of the school committee in the last year and oral examiner of candidates for the ministry in the Hawke's Bay-Manawatu Synod district. He leaves a widow and an adult family. The funeral will be at Wellington Monday. THE REV. C. PARKHURST
