CUBAN REVOLUTION

NEW PRESIDENT CHOSEN (Received September JO, 11.50 p.m.) HAVANA, September 10. Dr. Ramon Grau San Martin, a former university professor, was today chosen as President of Cuba by members of the junta which last week took over the government from Dr. Manoel De Cespedes. FORMER ARMY OFFICERS HELD PRISONERS (Received September 10, 7.6 p.m.) HAVANA, September 8. Three hundred Cuban army officers removed from their commands by the troops on Monday were held virtual prisoners to-night in the Hotel National, diverting attention from the attempts of the Executive Commission to select a new President. Machine guns are trained on the building.
