——. il ■ «.i CAMPAIGN ARRANGEMENTS
The campaigns of both the Coalition and Labour candidates in the Lyttelton by-election have now been prepared in their first stages. On Monday and Tuesday Mr F. W. Freeman, the Coalition candidate, will visit Port Levy, Pigeon Bay, Little Akaloa, and Okain's Bay. On Wednesday night he will formally open his campaign in the Masonic Hall, Cashmere Hills, and on Thursday night he will speak at the Sumner Town Ilall. The Labour,candidate, Mrs E. R. McCombs, will be accompanied by the leader of the Opposition (Mr H. E. Holland, M.P.), when she opens her campaign at Lyttelton on Monday night. Mrs McCombs and ! Mr Holland will speak at Woolston ! on Tuesday night and at Sumner on Wednesday night. Mr F. Langstone, M.P., arrived in Christehurch from the north yesterday to direct the Labour campaign. Mr Holland will arrive from the West Coast on Saturday night. The Minister for Lands (the Hon. E. A. Ransom), who will reach j Christehurch to-morrow on his tour! of the South Island, will probably discuss various aspects of the campaign with the Coalition committee. It is expected that arrangements will be made for a Minister or prominent members of the Government parties to take part in the campaign in support of Mr Freeman's candidature.
