QUESTION* OF KURMI'S STATUS (L'SIIED XT.ES3 ASSOCrATIOX— ET ELECTJUC TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT.) LONDON, August 16. In view of the long-standing engagement of a British athletic team to compete in Finland on September 3 the recent participation of Paavo Nurmi in the Finnish amateur athletic championships raises a difficult question of policy. The Finns refuse to recognise Nurmi's suspension, and are certain to include him against the British team, the members of which, if they compete against'him, will technically lose their amateur status, and therefore will be unable to participate in the Olympic Games—"The Times" cable. BOYS' HIGH SCHOOL STEEPLECHASE
The senior and junior handicaps run in conjunction with the annual steeplechase of the Christchurch Boys' High School last week were won by R. H. .DysOn and N. F. A. Row respectively.
