An exhibition will be given at the Robert McDougall Art Gallery shortly of a model of "The Great Mace," which was presented to the Australasian College of Surgeons, Melbourne, by the president and council of the Royal College of Surgeons, England. According to a report placed before the Christchurch City Council by the Art Gallery Committee last night, the model is said to be a very fine example of art-craftsmanship in silver. The model is at present on exhibition in Dunedin. and will arrive in Christchurch eariy in September. Human hairs are stated to have an average life of between four and five vears each.
