CANTERBURY CLUB'S MEETING.
Three events—the men's slalom, women's slalom, and ski jump—of the annual championships of the Canterbury Winter Sports Club were held at Mount Chccscman on Sunday, 25 members taking part. Heavy rain on Friday had packed the snow, and the few inches of fresh snow which fell on Sunday morning Rave an excellent ski-ing surface. Snow fell lightly during the day. G. W. A. Day was the most successful competitor, winning the men's slalom and filling second place in the ski jump. The results were:MEN'S SLALOM. G. W. A. Day, 100 points .. 1 L. B. Black, 82 .. ..2 J. H. Young, 78 .. ..3 SKI JUMP. A. Giles (22ft lOin) .. 1 G. W. A. Day (15ft 9inj .. 2 A. H. Willis (lift nin> .. 3 WOMEN'S SLALOM. Miss M. Black .. ..1 Miss M. Studholme .. 2 Miss K. G. Robinson .. 3 The championships will be concluded on Sunday, the events still to be decided being the men's cross-country and downhill races and the women's cross-country and downhill races.
