ANNUAL STAFF DANCE. j Last night the staff of the New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Association of Canterbury, Ltd.. forgot the routine of office and store, and spent a pleasant night enjoying themselves and entertaining their friends at their annual J staff dance held at the Winter Garden. The committee had anticipated the j wishes of the guests, and everything possible had been done to ensure their comfort and enjoyment. Showers of 1 balloons were released in the ballroom, and added to (he pleasure of dancing to music supplied by the Bailey-Mar-ston orchestra, broadcast over 3ZC. The Misses Lawrence (2) contributed songs and dances. Mr W. Machin (general manager), Mrs Machin, Mr James Stevenson (chairman of the board of directors) and Mrs Stevenson were the guests of honour. Mrs Machin wore a frock of amethyst georgette with white embossed floral design, and her ring velvet wrap was of a deeper shade. Mrs Stevenson's frock of black georgette had insets of black lace in the moulded bodice, and ankle-Jength skirt. Members of the organising committee were Mr J. H. Cunningham (chairman), Misses Maud Aurisch. Nella Mayo, R. Cross, Josephine Mullins, Inez Gay, Mae Heath, M. Brown, Messrs H. J. Butler, J. Broome, F. Scott, R. Cutler, A. Stokes, and V. A. Beaumont (honorary secretary). Miss Gay wore a frock of black ring velvet and a cape to match lined with white satin; Miss Aurisch, a pink lace frock and coatee to tone; Miss Heath, a frock and cape of harebell blue crushed velvet; Miss Mayo, a black velvet frock with short puffed sleeves; Miss Mullins, a black, beaded net frock mounted on georgette, and a black velvet cape.
