METHODIST CHURCH.

ST. ALBANS CIRCUIT. The quarterly meeting of the St. Albans Methodist circuit was held at Wesley Church, Edgeware road, on Monday and was largely attended. The Rev. W. Rowe presided. A welcome was extended to Mr C. James, a re-cently-elected circuit steward. The membership and young people's reports presented by Miss Croasdale showed little change compared with the previous quarter. The balancesheet showed a revenue of £221. Congratulations were extended to the Wesley Church who, by a special effort, had raised more than £6O, which reduced the deficit to less than £lO. Mr Frank Thompson reported that all preparations for the Easter camp at Amberley were complete, and it was expected that more than 200 young men would be in attendance. A hope was expressed that members of the congregations would be able to visit the camp during the holidays. Conference having reduced the Home Mission grant to Bryndwr, a corresponding reduction was 'made in the stipend of the minister in charge. A motion was adopted congratulating the St Albans School Committee on its celebration of the diamond jubilee of the school, it being stated that a number of Wesleyans took an active part in its inception. By a unanimous vote Mr A. Petch was accepted as a fully accredited lay preacher. Mr A. Williams was thanked for a report on the Auckland conference. The claims of the young people's de-; partment were received and a grant I made to the chaplain's fund. Mr A. D. Hassall reported that the visit of the Rev. G. Laurenson and the Maori choir had been highly appreci- i ated. The financial returns were satisfactory.

An announcement was made that Mr and Mrs W. Hindle, of Fendalton, had transferred their membership to St. John's Church, Bryndwr on account of distance. The board placed on record its appreciation of their long and faithful services as members of the Rugby Street congregation.
