LOCAL ELECTIONS.

SUMNER BOROUGH. PRESENT COUNCILLORS NOMINATED. The Mayor and all the members of the Sumner Borough Council with one exception have been nominated for election to office for a further term. The exception is Mr J. S. Barr, who is understood not to be seeking re-election. Nominations close with the Borough Clerk at noon on April 20. The nominations so far received are as follows: Mayoralty. W. H. Nicholson, nominated by J. E. Tait, A. Holden, and H. W. Harris. Council. Colin Hart, nominated by 11. W. Harris and G. F. Allen. H. W. Harris, nominated by W. H. Nicholson and D. F. OJdridge. D. F. Oldridge, nominated by Colin Hart and H. L. Wiggins. J. E. Tait, nominated by A. Holden and Colin Hart. ' G. F. Allen, nominated by J. E. Tait and H. L. Wiggins. H. L. Wiggins, nominated by A. Holden and Colin Hart. H. E. Kennett, nominated by W. H. Nicholson and Colin Hart. A. Holden, nominated by W. H. Nicholson and H. W. Harris. Mr Kennett was not a member of the old council, but has been nominated to replace Mr Barr. NOMINATIONS FOR CITY COUNCIL. The nomination of Cr. E. H. Andrews, one of the candidates of the Citizens' Association, for re-electiou on the Christchurch City Council was recived yesterday by the Re-. turning Officer (Mr J. S. Neville). His nominators were Leicester Matson and H. C. Lane. Nominations for seats on the City Council, the Lyttelton Harbour Board, and the North Canterbury Hospital Board close with the returning officer before noon on April 20.
