FORMER KING'S APPEAL.
VICTORY IN ENGLISH COURT. BONDS CONFISCATED AFTER REVOLUTION. (UNITED rKESS ASSOCIATION —BY ELECTRIC TELEGBAPH—COPYBIGHT.) (Received. April 11, 9.4 p.m.) LONDON, April 11. Former Xing Alfonso of Spain won an appeal concerning bonds valued at. £11,200, including English Victory Bonds, which he originally deposited with the Westminster Bank's head office, and later transferred to the Banco de Vizcaya, which works in association with the Bank of Westminster. After the revolution he asked for delivery of the bonds from the Bank of Westminster, which the Banco de Vizcaya refused, on the grounds that the Republic had confiscated the King's property. The Court of Appeal ruled that the question of confiscation did not arise. The only issue was whether the Banco de Vizcaya or the former king was entitled to the securities.
