WEST SPREYDON SCHOOL PICNIC.
p VISIT TO STEWART'S GULLY. The annual picnic of the West Spreydon School was held at Stewart's Gully on Saturday. The members ot the School Committee present were: Messrs A. Philpott (chairman), I, Man. son (hon. secretary), L. Johns, G. Birss, C. Ettrick, W. Wood, -L. Humphreys, O. Oakley, and A. -u-irk. The results of the various races held were as follows: Girls—s years, Vilma Cross 1, Auriole Bodington 2; 7 years, Joy Scouse 1, M. Thompson 2; 8 years, Inez Woodcock 1, Ngaire Shaiid 2; 9 years, Joyce Small 1, Hazel Avant iO years, T. Smith 1, June Tate 2; 11 years, D. Small 1, Joyce Erikson 2; 12 years, June Hyde 1, Jean Pope 2; 13 and 14 years, Edith Howlett 1, Iris Loonies 2; 15 years, Edith Cross 1, Esme Philpott 2; three-legged race, Joyce and Olga Jarden 1, Jean Pope and Dulcie Cundell 2. Boys—s years, John Chappell 1, Lloyd Jarden 2; 6 years. Harold Deacon 1, Ronald Kirk 2; 7 years, Owen Judkins 1, Raymond Staee 2; 8 years, K. Johns, S. Birss and D. Young (equal) 1; 9 years, Harold Voyce 1> John Erikson 2; 10 years, Desmon'i Slceman 1, Jack Bliss 2; 11 years, B. Bliss and Peter Sloan (equal) ; 12 to 14 years, Douglas Cross 1, W. Woods 2; three-legaed race, John and Owen Erikson 1. William Woods and Douglas Cross 2; married men's race. J. Young 1, L. Humphreys 2: married worren's race, Mrs Chappell 1, Mrs Cocks 2. A steoping contest was won by Mrs O. Oaklev.
