Sunshine figures for 1932 prepared by Dr. E. Kidson, director of meteorological services, show that of all the recording stations in the Dominion Nelson most doservcp the epithet of "sunny." During the past year it enjoyed just over 2620J hours of bright sunshine, which is an average of over seven hours a day throughout the year. Wellington could boast of only 2054£ hours, -which, after all, is no mean total, as it works but at only a little lees than six hours a day. Other totals for the year in hourfc, disregarding fractions, were:—Blenheim. 2436; New Plymouth, 2324; Napier, 2261; Auckland, 2202; Rotorua, 2144; Mastorton, 2057; Christchurcb, 1940; Palmerston North, 1897; Invereargill, 1783; and Tirnaru, 1733. Figures for other years and averages over several years make some of the stations show to better advantage than they did in 1932 and some to worse.
