NORTH BRIGHTON SCHOOL.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the North Brighton School Committee was held at the school last week. Present were Messrs A. Florance (chairman), W. S. Bussell, A. H. Henry, A. Jones, R. H. Mahan, F. 8. Norrie, J. Sands, and S. S. Freeborn. Mr E. B. Diehl, actingheadmaster, was also present. Regret was expressed at the resignation of Mr H. Eochfort, headmaster, and Miss O. A, French, infant mistress, and a motion of thanks and appreciation of their services to the school, was carried unanimously. The Board advised that Mr V. W. Colville, of Runanga, had been appointed headmaster, and Miss 0. I. Curtis, of Waimairi School, as infant mistress. Miss Curtis has already taken up her duties, and Mr Colville. will assume charge on March 1. In the meantime Mr E. B. Dichl is acting as headmaster. It was decided to hold the annual school picnic on Wednesday, February 22. at the Pleasant Point Domain, and a subcommittee consisting of Messrs Henry, Jones, Diehl, and Freeborn was appointed to make all necessary arrangements. Reports were given by Messrs Norrie. delegate to the School Committees' Association; Mahan, delegate to the Dental Clinic Committee, and Sands, as Visiting Committee. Mr Henry reported on. the work that had been done on the grounds since last meeting. Messrs Jones and Mahan were appointed si Visiting Committee for the month.
