A demonstration of neighbourly helpfulness has heen given by a party ot Makauri farmers, near who assembled to give assistance to a settler who has been ill and whose large maize paddock of 60 acres was still unsown. His friends mobilised their horses, discs, and rollers, and with 40 horses working eight to 10 teams, the ground was prepared and the crop planted in three days.
