CHILD'S BODY FOUND.

-—-• The adjourned inquest into the death ot' a male child, who vras found in a creek at T'emuka on August 24th last ivas held before the District Coroner, J Mr C. R. Orr Walker. Dr. F. A. Scannell, in evidence, said that there were no external signs of injury and the body was that of a fully developed child newly born. It had evidently breathed for some time. The cause of death was asphyxiation, which must have taken place before it was put into the water. Detective L. Studholme, of Timaru, said he had found a brick and wrappings, but' no signs of anyone having been associated with the happening. Extensive enquiries were made all through New Z&aland, but no evidence was gathered. A verdict in accordance with the medical evidence was returned.
