HARMONIC SOCIETY.
CAROL CONCERT. The final concert of the Christchurch liar* monic Society for 1932 is to be given at the Civic Theatre on Wednesday next, when, following the practice of leading choral societies at Home, the programme will bo devoted to carols and Christmas music. Tho knowledge of Christmas carols in many instances is limited to a few well-known tunes, and it is not generally known that hundreds of traditipnal melodies have been recorded and that composers of all ages have handed down these melodies in different choral arrangements. A selection of delightful carols, ranging from, the old airs, which the audience will be asked to sing, to compositions of modern English musician?, has been selected by 31 r Peters for this concert. A special attraction will be the first public appearance since her return to New Zealand of Miss Eunice Meredith, one of the few New ZeMand singers who have achieved success in the professional world in the Old Country. Miss Meredith has given recitals in Dunßdin and under Vice-Regal patronage in Wellington, and Tier first public cor-cert in Christchurch will be on event of more than usual interest. The box plan mil open at Chan. Begg'a on Friday next.
